Start with the wall, not the adhesive
A straight, well-finished slat wall starts with preparation. Measure the height and width in several places, check whether the substrate is sound and level, and mark sockets, switches and skirting boards. Decide where the pattern starts and how the final edge will be finished before cutting the first panel. Standard Adeqo panels are 60 cm wide and come in 260 or 300 cm lengths. Allow for cuts and usable offcuts rather than ordering only from the total square metres.
Choose a suitable mounting method
On a suitable flat wall, panels can be installed with High Tack adhesive or screws. Check that the surface is clean, dry and able to carry the load. Adhesive needs a sound surface, so loose paint or wallpaper is not a reliable fixing base. Screws make removal easier, but require fixings appropriate to the wall. An acoustic mounting frame changes the construction and performance: follow the tested installation details if you are specifying Class A absorption.
Cut and fit carefully
Use a fine-toothed saw for cuts through the slats, support the panel and protect the visible veneer. Secure slat ends where needed after cutting. To reduce the width between slats, cut the felt cleanly with a sharp knife. Make openings for sockets before fitting, with electrical work handled by a qualified professional. Work from a level reference, check each panel and keep the slat rhythm consistent at joins.
Finish edges and ceilings correctly
Fit a matching end trim where felt would otherwise remain visible. Plan corners before fixing so the end profile has room to sit correctly. Always use mechanical fixings on ceilings; do not rely on adhesive alone. The panels are decorative acoustic treatment, not a structural support for televisions or shelves. Fix heavy items through to the underlying wall.
Check your order before installation
Confirm the finish, dimensions, quantity, accessories and relevant fire classification. Compare samples in the room first, then lay out panels before fitting. If you need project guidance, contact Adeqo with the wall dimensions, substrate and photographs.
