Fire-retardant acoustic panels B-s1,d0 reports for the MDF core and felt

In standard acoustic panels, the B-s1,d0 classification applies to the felt rather than the MDF slats. The felt and fire-retardant MDF core have separate B-s1,d0 component reports. This does not establish the classification of the veneered slats or complete panel. Check the acoustic and fire reports for the specified installation.

The key facts about our fire-retardant acoustic panels.

  • Check the complete fire specification, including felt, core, slats and appropriate finishing components.

  • Class A absorption and NRC 0.90 in the tested configuration.

  • Standard range: classified felt. Fire-retardant range: separately classified felt and MDF; complete-panel classification not established.

  • Request the applicable classification documentation and a quotation in your company name.

Standard panels have B-s1,d0 classified felt. The fire-retardant range also has separately classified MDF. Neither component report establishes the classification of the complete veneered panel. Check the selected product and permitted installation.

Include edge trims in your fire specification

Standard panel slats and end trims use real veneer over an MDF core. The standard felt classification does not extend to these MDF components. Check whether your project requires classification of the complete assembly.

Where the specification covers the whole finish, the proposed panel, substrate, fixings and edge details must be assessed together. A felt-only report does not establish compliance of that installation.

Use matching fire-retardant end trims with this range. The MDF core has a component report; this does not classify the veneered trim. Request the relevant documents and check the complete installation with the responsible project professional.

Requirements depend on the project and building location. Do not substitute a felt-only classification for a required complete-assembly classification.

Which range suits your project?

Property managers and owners' associations

For escape routes and shared spaces, have the responsible designer establish the applicable requirements. A report for felt alone does not classify the complete wall finish. Request the product's complete-assembly documentation where required and check the proposed installation.

Hospitality

Commercial projects may need documented material performance. Request the applicable felt or complete-assembly report, and confirm its scope with the responsible project professional. The product documentation supports the assessment; it does not automatically approve every building application.

Healthcare and education

Building use, occupancy and evacuation arrangements affect fire requirements. Ask the responsible project professional to specify the classification needed. Where the complete assembly must be documented, confirm the available evidence before specifying any panel. Separate felt and MDF reports do not establish that classification.

Offices and facilities

Choose the standard or fire-retardant range according to the office specification. Standard panels offer acoustic absorption with classified felt; the fire-retardant range adds a separately classified MDF core. Confirm delivery by destination and stock availability.

Architects and specifications

Request product specification wording and the applicable classification reports for your project or BIM description. Identify the exact assembly and permitted installation details rather than relying only on a short product label.

Specification wording

Acoustic wall panel with real veneer on three sides and recycled PET felt backing. Class A absorption and NRC 0.90 in the tested installation configuration. Standard range: B-s1,d0 applies to the felt. Fire-retardant range: separate B-s1,d0 component reports for felt and MDF. Confirm the report scope and installation details before specifying.

Fire classification explained

What fire classification applies to these panels?

In the standard range, B-s1,d0 applies to the felt backing, not the MDF slats or complete panel assembly. If your specification requires classification of the whole panel, ask Adeqo about the available evidence before specifying it. Component reports alone are insufficient.

Can I request the fire classification documents?

Yes. Ask Adeqo for the applicable product classification report and supporting documentation for your project. Check the product, tested assembly and application limits with the responsible project professional. Separate felt and MDF reports do not establish the classification of the complete veneered panel.
