What is a wood acoustic wall panel?

An Adeqo panel combines MDF slats with real veneer on three sides over 9 mm recycled PET felt. Fit it panel by panel rather than aligning individual loose slats. The backing helps absorb reflections inside the room. Compare oak and walnut finishes and explore uses in living rooms and bedrooms.

Real wood veneer or solid timber?

Both use real wood. Compare construction, weight, moisture movement and acoustic backing.

Solid timber moves with humidity and may need a different supporting structure. Veneer over MDF gives a real wood surface with a consistent slat core. Decorative foil or PVC is a different material; compare samples and specifications before choosing.

Installing wood wall panels

Two people can fit a straightforward four-metre wall in a few hours, depending on preparation and cuts. Have a tape measure, spirit level, suitable saw and the required fixing tools ready.

  1. Measure and order

Divide the wall width by 60 cm and round up, then draw the cut layout and allow for waste.

  2. Prepare the wall

Make sure the surface is sound, flat, clean and dry. Remove old fixings and loose finishes.

  3. Cut to size

Use a fine-toothed saw to shorten the slats. Cut the felt between slats with a sharp knife when adjusting width.

  4. Use screws or adhesive

Use suitable screws through the felt into the substrate, or the specified adhesive on a suitable smooth, dry wall. Always use mechanical fixings on ceilings.

Maintenance is simple: dust occasionally with a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment. Read the full installation guide for preparation, cuts and fixing details.

Frequently asked questions about wood panels

What is a wood acoustic wall panel?

Adeqo Akupanels have an MDF slat core with real wood veneer on the front and both sides, over recycled PET felt. They are not solid-wood boards and the visible finish is not a printed wood effect. Check the exact product specification for finishes such as WoodSkin.

How many panels do I need?

For a full-height wall, divide its width by the panel width and round up. Standard panels are 60 cm wide; a 3 m-wide wall needs five full-width panels if the selected length covers its height. Draw the cut layout and allow for waste. For acoustic treatment, coverage depends on the room and mounting; 30–40% of wall area is an initial guide, not a guaranteed result.

Are these panels made with real wood?

Adeqo Akupanels have an MDF slat core with real wood veneer on the front and both sides, over recycled PET felt. They are not solid-wood boards and the visible finish is not a printed wood effect. Check the exact product specification for finishes such as WoodSkin.

How much do the panels cost?

See the current prices for your selected finish, dimensions and quantity on the product page. Add trims, fixings and delivery to compare the complete project cost. Approved business accounts have their own prices and quantity discounts. Request a quotation for a larger project.

Can I install panels over wallpaper or tiles?

The substrate must be sound, flat and able to carry the load. Do not rely on loose wallpaper or paint for an adhesive fixing. Check the adhesive requirements for the surface, or use suitable mechanical fixings into the underlying wall. Prepare the surface before installation.

Can I use wood acoustic panels in a kitchen?

Use only in suitable dry indoor areas, away from splashes, persistent moisture, grease and direct heat. These panels are not a washable splashback. Follow appliance clearance requirements and choose a water-resistant alternative where the surface is exposed to moisture.

Where can I use these panels?

These indoor panels suit living rooms, bedrooms, offices and hospitality interiors. They are not intended for outdoor use or bathrooms. Persistent moisture and temperature changes can affect the MDF and veneer. For a project with fire requirements, check the complete specification before ordering.

How do I clean and maintain these panels?

Dust the slats with a soft brush or duster. Use a soft vacuum brush with gentle suction for the felt. Remove small marks from the veneer with a lightly damp cloth and dry the surface. Do not soak the panel or use steam, abrasives or harsh cleaning products.

What fire classification applies to these panels?

In the standard range, B-s1,d0 applies to the felt backing, not the MDF slats or complete panel assembly. If your specification requires classification of the whole panel, ask Adeqo about the available evidence before specifying it. Component reports alone are insufficient.

What is the delivery time?

In-stock delivery in the Netherlands and Belgium normally takes 1–3 working days. The product page shows expected availability where stock is limited. Large project deliveries are scheduled by arrangement. Contact Adeqo for confirmed lead times in other delivery countries.
